Out of the Kinky closet: Behind the Scenes of a Typical Shoot
While you see our latex lives on screen, many have requested to learn more about the behind the scenes aspect of a typical shoot, so I thought I would give you a little peek into the creepy closet of the Fetish Kitsch world.
A typical shoot ranges from about 4 to six hours which includes set-up and take down. The day begins with us getting our set ready…well its really whatever room in our apt we chose to shoot in, but its more fun calling it a set, so work with me people. This means we set up the lighting, make sure the camera is ready and make sure the room is also somewhat presentable, we don’t want to look like slobs after all!
Then comes the fun part…dress up time! In all reality….this part takes up the most time. After I lube myself up from neck to toe there is a lot of poking, prodding, stretching, pulling, and wiggling to get me into my suit. We have this part down to a fine science by now, but it is definitely a two-person operation, as I can only get my suit up to my thighs before I need some real man power to help me with the rest. Getting me in my suit is probably a good 15 minutes alone not including footsies, gloves, corset and heels and by the time that is over, a half hour or more has passed and Fetish Kitsch is sweating and exhausted. Let me tell you, it is no easy feat…but I do love the end result. Then when Fetish Kitsch has mustered up the energy to get himself ready, its time to get the show on the road.
We don’t like to plan every inch of our shoot, we mainly have a concept and do whatever comes natural…we don’t want it to feel scripted or pushed but more like one of our typical personal play sessions. The main issue in shooting are the cameras; we must make sure that what we are doing is getting filmed and that we are getting good angles, this can get tricky at times considering there is only one person running two cameras, controlling the lights and Doming all at the same time. When you put all this into account, getting fucked by a machine that can do 250 strokes per minute while you are gagged, and tied to the bed with a Hitachi dangling from the ceiling sounds like a walk in the park Actual shooting ranges from 1-3 hours.
When the magic is over, the clean-up begins. By the end of a shoot our house, well I guess it probably looks exactly like what it is…a porn set, with restraints and collars laying all over the place, rope bundled up on the floor, a dildo on the bed and a fine layer of lube covering every inch of our living space. Its time to get it all de-lubed and everything back to its place. Because latex is such a sensitive material, we must wash and dry every piece we use before putting it away in our closet. Then its time to rest and relax and bask in the amazing day we just had.
Running a latex website has definitely become a full-time operation for us. If we aren’t shooting, we are planing future shoots, finding new latex items to buy, answering emails, editing videos or updating the website…and the latex list goes on and on! But we do love what we do so there are no weepy violins playing in our house. We love it so much we even dress up in our free time. Nothing beats a lazytastical Saturday with me cooking dinner in my favorite latex dress while Fetish Kitsch is working on the computer in his catsuit. Words of Wisdom?… From Miss Kitsch :)
Hey everybody! So I am finding a common theme of questions from messages I receive through our website and fetlife, which is this: How can I get my girlfriend/wife to wear latex or try bondage? or How did Dan get you into latex?
I can’t even count how many times I have been asked these types of questions, so I thought it was high time I would share my answers with you all. My answers aren’t overly complicated, but this is just my experience and my perspective.
First and foremost, Dan didn’t really have to twist my arm to try anything. I am a sexual person by nature, so I was always up for trying something new. With that said, I think most women would be in the same boat. Women like when a man takes charge and brings something new to the table; we get bored with the same ‘ol thing, just like you do I think the most important part is that your woman feels comfortable with you and knows she can trust you. Let her know that you will love her regardless if she likes latex of not.

Secondly, its important how you present these things to her. If your woman seems a little more hesitant to try new things, you can’t just throw a latex catsuit at her and say, now wear this for 24 hours. You have to ease a person into the idea. If you aren’t sure about how she may react, start out with something small, maybe something familiar like a dress or some lingerie; an item of clothing that she is used to wearing in daily life. When she has it on, let her know how much you appreciate her wearing latex and show it. When I was new to latex, my biggest turn on was seeing how much it turned Dan on, then I began to think it was sexy and a turn on for myself.
Try to bring latex into your normal sex life, that way this new experience is brought into something special that you already enjoy together. I think when people are unfamiliar with the fetish world, they assume that when you wear latex you have to start buying into the fetish lifestyle, and start calling each other slave and sir, but that’s not how it has to be (its fun if you want it to be 
) You can live a “normal” life and enjoy latex too; latex just makes life a little more shiny.
Really with whatever you want to bring into your sex life, ease it slowly before you start pulling out all the stops and I’m sure before you know it she will be telling you to shine her up in no time!
